You land at KCH, you want your keys, you want to go. Here is exactly how that works with Car&Go — including the 2am arrivals and the flights that do not land on time.

Kuching International Airport is small in the best way. There is one terminal, arrivals is on the ground floor, and you can walk from the baggage belt to the kerb in a couple of minutes. That is why we do not run a counter — there is no queue to join, because there is nothing to queue for.
The handover works like this: once your flight is confirmed landed, our runner meets you at the arrivals area with the car. You check the car together, sign the rental agreement, and drive off. Most handovers take under ten minutes.
Because we meet you rather than sit behind a desk, the exact meeting point is confirmed on WhatsApp before you fly. That way you are not scanning signage while jet-lagged.
This is the part most people ask about, and it is the reason a lot of our customers switch to us. We operate 24 hours a day, every day. If your flight lands at 1am, someone meets you at 1am. If you have a 6am departure and need to hand the car back at 4:30am, that works too.
There is no after-hours surcharge for this — airport pickup and return are free at any hour. Just tell us the flight time when you book so the runner is scheduled properly.
Delays are normal and they do not cost you anything with us. Because we work from your flight number, a two-hour delay simply moves the handover two hours later. You do not lose the car, you are not charged a waiting fee, and you do not need to phone ahead in a panic.
What genuinely helps: if you know about a long delay or a missed connection while you are still at the departure airport, send us one WhatsApp message. It lets us re-plan the runner's evening rather than having them wait at arrivals.
If a flight is cancelled outright and you need to move your dates, changes are free, and cancellation is free up to 48 hours before pickup.
Deposits are RM100 for our compact cars and sedans and RM200 for the seven-seaters. The Alphard/Vellfire deposit is RM300.
If you are unsure whether your particular licence is fine, send us a photo of it on WhatsApp before you book. We would much rather confirm it a week early than have a surprise at arrivals.
Not sure which car to book? Tell us your dates and group size — we will tell you what is actually free and what fits.
Ask about airport pickupThe return is the pickup in reverse, and it is deliberately simple. Drive to the airport, we meet you, we check the car over together, and you walk to check-in. Refundable security deposits are processed within 48 hours after vehicle return — not handed back in cash at the kerb.
Two practical notes. First, allow a little buffer — aim to hand the car back around 30 to 45 minutes before you would otherwise arrive at check-in, which is comfortable rather than tight. Second, fuel and tolls are on the driver, so plan a fill-up on the way in rather than at the last roundabout.
Our cars are Malaysian-registered vehicles, so you can fill up with RON95. Malaysian citizens who verify with MyKad at the pump get the subsidised BUDI95 rate; non-citizens pay the unsubsidised RON95 price. The RON95 restriction that people read about online applies to foreign-registered vehicles driven into Malaysia — not to a car you rent here.
Fuel policy in Malaysia does get updated from time to time, so treat this as the current position and confirm with our team at handover. On the way back, return the vehicle with the same fuel level shown during handover.

All three are reasonable. Which one suits you depends on what you are doing after you land.
| Option | Best for | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Airport pickup | Anyone driving out of Kuching, arriving late, or travelling with family and luggage | You are responsible for the car from the moment you land |
| Grab from the airport, car later | Staying in the city centre for the first night with no plans outside town | You pay for the ride, and you are on someone else's schedule for the next day |
| Hotel or homestay delivery | Arriving with a firm hotel booking and starting your driving on day two | Fine across greater Kuching, but you still need to get to the hotel first |
The honest rule of thumb: if your trip includes Damai, Santubong or Semenggoh and the Bau caves, take the car at the airport. Those are the trips where waiting for a ride each morning quietly eats your holiday.
Booking usually takes about two minutes of your time. Nothing is charged online — you settle at pickup by cash, bank transfer or DuitNow. We do not accept credit or debit cards, so please plan for one of those three — full detail in our payment, deposit and fuel guide.
Rates start at RM100/day for the Axia 2018, dropping to RM80/day when you rent three days or more. Every rental includes unlimited kilometres and basic insurance; fuel and tolls are on the driver. Baby seats and phone holders are free.
You can see the full fleet with current daily rates on the fleet section of our homepage. If you are weighing up the smaller cars, our Axia vs Myvi vs Bezza comparison goes through it properly, and groups should start with the 7-seater guide.
