What do I need to rent a car?
A valid driving licence. Malaysians: bring your MyKad and licence. Visitors: bring your passport and home-country licence — if your licence isn't in English or Malay, an International Driving Permit makes pickup smoother. Unsure about yours? Send us a photo on WhatsApp and we'll confirm before you book.
Is insurance included in the price?
Yes — basic insurance is included in every rental. Fuel and tolls are on the driver, and that's it. The price we quote on WhatsApp is the price you pay. No surprise add-ons at handover.
Is there a security deposit?
Yes — a small refundable one: RM100 for our compact cars and sedans, RM200 for the 7-seaters (Alza and Aruz), and RM300 for the Alphard/Vellfire. Refundable security deposits are processed within 48 hours after vehicle return — not handed back in cash at the kerb.
How does airport pickup work?
We're based at Kuching International Airport and operate around the clock — we meet you at arrivals whether your flight lands at noon or 2 a.m. Returning? Drop the car with us before departure and walk straight to check-in.
Can I change my dates or cancel?
Free cancellation up to 48 hours before pickup, and date or car changes are free — just message us on WhatsApp. Travel plans wobble; your booking shouldn't punish you for it.
Is there a mileage limit? Can I drive outside Kuching?
Unlimited kilometres on every rental — drive as far as Sarawak takes you. Trips beyond greater Kuching carry a one-time outstation charge: Sri Aman RM100 · Betong RM150 · Pusak/Saratok/Roban RM200 · Sibu RM300 · Mukah/Bintulu/Miri RM400. Note: pickup and return are in Kuching only — we have no branches elsewhere, so the car comes home with you.
Do you provide baby seats or other add-ons?
Baby seat and phone holder are free. Stroller RM15/day, wheelchair RM25/day. Tick them in the booking form and they'll be in your WhatsApp request automatically.
Can I rent for just one day?
Yes — one-day bookings are arranged directly with our admin. Send your dates on WhatsApp and we'll sort it out personally.
Do you serve companies and government departments?
Yes — alongside holiday rentals we handle corporate and government bookings: business travel, project teams working outstation, and long-term staff cars, with proper company invoicing under CAR & GO TRANSPORT SDN BHD (Reg. Do you have weekly or monthly rates?
Yes — the longer you drive, the less you pay per day. Working in Kuching for a season or need a car for a long project? Ask for our long-term rates on WhatsApp.
How can I pay?
We accept cash, bank transfer and DuitNow. We do not accept credit cards or card payment facilities, so please plan for one of those three. Nothing is charged online — you settle at pickup. Car&Go does not charge SST. Company and eligible business customers may request an e-Invoice; please provide the required billing details when requesting a quotation.
What is the fuel policy?
Return the vehicle with the same fuel level shown during handover. Our cars are Malaysian-registered, so you fill up with RON95 — Malaysian citizens verify with MyKad at the pump for the subsidised BUDI95 rate, and non-citizens pay the unsubsidised RON95 price. Fuel and tolls are on the driver. Fuel policy is revised from time to time, so confirm the current position with our team at handover.
When do I get my deposit back?
Refundable security deposits are processed within 48 hours after vehicle return. If you fly out the same day you return the car, the refund will reach you after you have left — that is normal. Full detail is in our payment, deposit and fuel guide.
Can I drive to Brunei or Indonesia?
Cross-border travel to Brunei or Indonesia may be arranged with advance approval from Car&Go. Contact the team before booking so the applicable vehicle, documents and current border requirements can be confirmed. Please do not assume a booked vehicle is automatically eligible, and do not cross a border without telling us first.
