What you pay: payment methods, deposits and the fuel rule
Three things catch people out: we take no cards, the deposit is not handed back at the kerb, and the fuel rule is about matching the level you were given. Everything else is detail.
Start with the three that catch people out
Most rental questions are really about money, and three answers do the heavy lifting. Here they are before anything else:
- We do not take credit or debit cards. Payment is cash, bank transfer or DuitNow.
- Your deposit is not handed back at the kerb. Refundable security deposits are processed within 48 hours after vehicle return.
- Return the vehicle with the same fuel level shown during handover — not necessarily a full tank, the level that was recorded when you took the car.

We say this early and plainly because being told at the kerb is the worst moment to find out. If card payment is essential for you — a company travel policy, say — raise it with us at the enquiry stage and we will work it out together rather than at handover.
SST and invoicing
Car&Go does not charge SST. There is no SST line added to your rate.
Company and eligible business customers may request an e-Invoice. Please provide the required billing details when requesting a quotation. Our corporate and government page covers business bookings in full.
The deposit

The deposit is separate from your rental charge and is refunded to you. It is not taken as a card pre-authorisation, because we do not process cards at all.
Plan for the 48 hours. If you are flying out the same day you return the car, the refund will reach you after you have left — that is normal and nothing to worry about, but it is worth knowing rather than waiting at the airport expecting cash.

Our cars are Malaysian-registered vehicles, so you fill up with RON95. Malaysian citizens who verify with MyKad at the pump get the subsidised BUDI95 rate; non-citizens pay the unsubsidised RON95 price. The restriction people read about online applies to foreign-registered vehicles driven into Malaysia, not to a car rented here.
Fuel policy in Malaysia is revised from time to time, so treat this as the current position and confirm with our team at handover.
Fuel and tolls are on the driver throughout. Distance itself costs nothing, because every rental has unlimited kilometres.
What the rate already includes
- Unlimited kilometres on every rental, without exception.
- Basic insurance.
- Airport pickup and return, free, 24 hours a day.
- Baby seat and phone holder, free.
- Automatic transmission and air-conditioning on every car.
Paid extras are short: strollers RM15/day and wheelchairs RM25/day. Tick them on the booking form and they come through with your request.
Insurance
Basic insurance is included. Insurance coverage, exclusions and applicable liability will be explained before booking confirmation. Ask us to set this out for your specific booking before you pay — it is a reasonable thing to want in writing, and we would rather you had it than assumed.

Published daily rates, with the promo that applies automatically at three days:

Very short rentals are RM8/hour, with 12 hours or more counting as a full day. At the other end, weekly and monthly periods are quoted individually — see monthly and long-term rental.

One-time per rental, not per day and not per kilometre:

Brunei and Indonesia
Cross-border travel to Brunei or Indonesia may be arranged with advance approval from Car&Go. Contact the team before booking so the applicable vehicle, documents and current border requirements can be confirmed.
Please do not assume a booked vehicle is automatically eligible, and do not cross a border without telling us first. Border and entry requirements change, so anything we confirm is confirmed for your specific trip and dates.
Changes and cancellation
Free cancellation up to 48 hours before pickup, and date or car changes are free — message us on WhatsApp. Travel plans move; your booking should not punish you for it.

The same applies to availability. What the website shows is a live preview, not a locked reservation: your booking is confirmed when our team replies on WhatsApp.
