Who rents by the month in Kuching

Long rentals are a quieter part of what we do than holiday bookings, but they are steady. The people who take them usually fall into one of these groups:

• Working here for a season. Contractors, engineers, medical staff and consultants posted to Kuching for weeks or months.
• Project teams. A crew working outstation who need a vehicle for the duration rather than a string of day bookings.
• Between cars. Your own car is in the workshop after an accident, or you have sold one and are waiting on delivery of the next.
• New to Kuching. Just relocated and not ready to buy yet — a month or two of driving tells you what you actually need.
• Extended family visits. Relatives over for a long stay, and one household car is not enough.

If you are in one of those situations, do not pay the daily rate for thirty days. That is the whole point of this page.

How long-term pricing actually works

The principle is simple: the longer you drive, the less you pay per day. You can already see it on our published rates. An Axia 2018 is RM100 for a single day, but RM80/day once you reach three days. A Bezza is RM150 a day, or RM380 for a three-day package.

Weekly and monthly rentals continue that curve. What we will not do is print a monthly figure on this page, because a single number would be misleading — a long-term quote depends on three things:

What stays the same on a long rental

These do not change, however long you keep the car:

• Unlimited kilometres. On every rental, no exceptions. For a month of daily commuting that matters more than almost anything else.
• Basic insurance included. Fuel and tolls are on the driver.
• Free airport pickup and return, 24 hours a day, if you are flying in to start the rental.
• Refundable deposit — RM100 for compact cars and sedans, RM200 for seven-seaters, RM300 for the Alphard/Vellfire, processed within 48 hours after vehicle return.
• The car returns to Kuching. We have no branches elsewhere, so however far you drive, it comes home here.

For any question about the specifics of your particular long rental — servicing during the period, what happens if you need to swap vehicles, anything to do with charges — ask us directly and we will confirm it in writing before you commit rather than have you rely on a web page.

Which car for a long stay

Priorities shift when you are living with a car rather than holidaying in one. Parking ease and running cost start to matter more than boot space for one trip.

Driving outstation during a long rental

Kilometres are unlimited, so distance itself costs you nothing. Trips beyond greater Kuching carry a one-time outstation charge — not per day, not per kilometre: Sri Aman RM100, Betong RM150, Pusak/Saratok/Roban RM200, Sibu RM300, Mukah/Bintulu/Miri RM400.

Paying for a long rental

Worth settling before you commit, because it surprises people:

• Accepted: cash, bank transfer and DuitNow.
• Not accepted: credit cards, and card payment facilities generally.
• SST: Car&Go does not charge SST. There is no SST line on your rate.
• e-Invoice: company and eligible business customers may request one — provide the required billing details when you ask for the quotation.
• Deposit: refundable, per vehicle, and processed within 48 hours after vehicle return.
• Fuel: return the vehicle with the same fuel level shown during handover.

Basic insurance is included. Insurance coverage, exclusions and applicable liability will be explained before booking confirmation — on a rental lasting weeks, ask us to set that out in writing before you start. Full detail is on our payment, deposit and fuel page.

We handle company and government bookings under CAR & GO TRANSPORT SDN BHD (Reg. No. 202301001420) — project teams, staff cars, and repeat airport runs for visiting colleagues. Company quotations, e-Invoices on request, and no SST charged.

Long rentals are arranged by conversation, not through the booking form — the form is built for day bookings and cannot quote a month. Message us with your model, duration and start date.
